Plasencia Alma Del Fuego

Situated on the shores of Lake Nicaragua, Ometepe Island is home to two imposing volcanoes, and its soil is rich in nutrients, making it the perfect place to grow some of the best tobacco in the world. The Plasencia family's Alma Del Fuego is their tribute to this special place—the double binder and half of the filler blend have been aged for seven years, and the wrapper and remaining fillers are from Jalapa, all grown on Plasencia's own farms. The body is medium-full, with flavors of earth, leather, and espresso, with a spicy finish. It has a gleaming, box-pressed shape with a flat head and closed foot, and an open draw that offers plenty of spicy, woody smoke. Touches of coffee bean, dried fruit, and cloves are highlighted on the nutty, sweet finish. The Alma Del Fuego has been awarded a 92-point rating.
