Wise Man Maduro
The Wise Man Maduro is a rich blend of specially selected Nicaraguan Fillers and carefully sourced aged San Andres Capa. The blend encompasses bold flavors of black pepper, dark roast espresso, and cacao. Medium-plus in body and strength rounded out with a nutty finish. This cigar has gone on to receive numerous accolades including a 93 rating from Cigar Aficionado, a 93 rating from Cigar Dojo, winning Halfwheel’s Consensus, as well as being included in various Top 25 lists.
The debut cigar and initial line blended under Master Cigar Maker Nicholas Melillo for Foundation Cigars. A true Nicaraguan puro, each bale of tobacco that goes into this cigar is hand-selected by Melillo with the filler leaves coming from a special vintage crop from years 2011 and 2012. Melillo is personally overseeing production at the Tobacco Valle de Jalapa (TABSA) facility with production being limited to 225 units per day. El Giiegiiense is aged in cedar humidors for 30 days before being shipped from Nicaragua, ensuring The Wise Man celebrates the Nicaraguan people, land, and culture.
The Tabernacle Havana Seed CT #142
Master blender, Nicholas Melillo, has been working with choice farmers in the Connecticut River Valley since 2014 to develop the Havana Seed CT #142 wrapper. The seed is extremely rare and unlike any other tobacco in the world. Due to the incredible amount of oil from the plant, it takes 3yrs to undergo the fermentation process. The results make for a delicious medium to full-bodied blend with hints of cedar, spice, rich earthiness and natural sweetness.
Charter Oak Maduro
Charter Oak also pays tribute to Melillo’s grandfather, who while earning a modest salary working for the Winchester Repeating Arms factory after WWII, smoked exclusively, broadleaf cigars manufactured by FD Graves on State St, while, no joke, Rick Ardito’s grandfather, a guard at Winchester, also smoked FD Graves biggest selling broadleaf, Muniemakers.
Charter Oak Connecticut
Charter Oak Cigars hail from the same fertile valley in Connecticut that native son and Master Blender Nick R Agua aka Nick Melillo was born and raised. Charter Oak Cigars feature some of the most prized and sought after Cuban seed leaf varieties from the exquisite Esteli and Jalapa regions of Nicaragua. The cigars are then wrapped in a silky, beautiful Connecticut Shade wrapper and a Sumatran binder for a balanced medium-bodied smoke. Or if one prefers a hearty and rich Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper, leaving you with the perfect every day and every occasion cigar.
Everyone knows the best time to smoke a cigar is on the weekend preferably after midnight. We named this blend Liga Midnight because the darkness of the leaves captures the mystery and flavor of the night. Rich, dark, chocolate and coffee notes tease your taste buds as you are brought deeper into the night-shade of this cigar leaving you both satisfied and wanting more at the same time.
When Day turns to night before 5pm then usually its a solar event called an Eclipse. In this cigar, we have affectionately named Eclipse so you get the best of both worlds. You get the day with the light airy cedar and caramel mixed with the dark chocolate and coffee notes of the dark Maduro’s we sell that you’ve come to love. Not sure which cigar to get between the MIDNIGHT and DAYBREAK? Then, pick up an Eclipse soon and see if you agree with our palate.
Do you like coffee with your cigars in the morning? We do!!! But often the cigars that we get to smoke with our coffee are lacking something….call it flavor, punch, power, or complexity we simply call it TASTE. But when we tried this cigar in the morning we were blown away!!! So if you want a great balanced cigar that highlights notes of caramel, cedar, and just the right amount of spice then this is the cigar for you. It is both the perfect cigar for the beginner and the veteran smoker who wants more from their cigar than just a pretty label.
This cigar is a medium-bodied, full of flavor Maduro that we’d liken to several boutique blends. If you are a fan of Maduro boutique cigars but don’t want to drop $10.00 per stick then this is a cigar that you must try! I have been told by more than one reputable cigar lover that I should put a label on these cigars, box em and sell them for 10-12 dollars.
This cigar tastes like a very well-aged boutique Habano. The amazing complexity and flavor stir my palate each time I smoke it. This has quickly become my favorite house blend of all time for Zeal Cigars. But don’t let the term “house blend” fool you. This is no ordinary “house” cigar. It is packed with a ton of flavor, perfect draw, and razor-sharp burn. Many folks begged me to label this and box it and put my name on it. I told them NO due to the fact it would take both longer to get out to the public and then cost double what it does now. This cigar is truly the ENVY of any King and we hope it becomes a staple cigar and must have stick for you.
