Asylum Madula / Obligata
Asylum 13 Medulla Oblongata is composed of authentic corojo wrapper, binder, and filler – making this cigar a medium to full-bodied blend. Featuring notes of leather, earth, espresso, and spice. Available in boxes of 50 with 25 Medulla (round parejos) and 25 Oblongata (box-pressed) allowing you to experience two uniquely nuanced versions of this showcase cigar.
It’s fair to say that the Asylum 13 Authentic Corojo is a very different cigar (different tobacco, different factory) from the rest of the Asylum 13 line – and even Asylum as a whole. If you look at Fabricas Unidas as a whole, there are several Corojo options. The nice thing is that each of these options deliver a different experience from the Corojo tobacco used. The Asylum 13 Authentic Corojo delivers a nice smoking experience. I think it falls short compared to Fabrica Unidas’ CLE Corojo, but the Asylum option is still a good cigar. Fans of Corojo tobacco might want to check this out. This is a cigar I’d probably steer more toward the experienced cigar enthusiast, but if a novice wanted to try something a little fuller, I’d encourage them to do this. As for myself, this is a cigar I’d keep around as a good change of pace cigar. -Ciagr Coop
Asylum Premium is medium to full-bodied cigar. The blend is definitely a winner with thick, chewy smoke that’s loaded with notes of espresso, leather, and a touch of spice on the finish. This cigar definitely stands out from the crowd.
Asylum 13 cigars are true Nicaraguan puros. A dark, Nicaraguan Habano wrapper cloaks a feisty combination of aged Cuban-seed long-fillers grown throughout the black, volcanic soils of Nicaragua. Upon igniting, one can expect a complex, medium to full-bodied array of flavorful, along with a slow, cool burn letting you fully appreciate every last nuance. Earth, cocoa, espresso bean, black tobacco, sweet notes, and gentle spices.
Asylum 13 Ogre certainly is eye-catching. The first thing you’ll notice is the highly unique, Habano and Candela barber-pole wrapper. The second thing to catch your eye will probably be the massive sizes, this cigar goes big and it ain’t messin’ around! The blend itself is a Nicaraguan puro, and is very similar to the original Asylum 13, with a complex, full-bodied array of flavors that are sure to satisfy.
