EL Criollito Cigars

At the IPCPR (cigar retailer trade show)  in 2018 Abe Flores from PDR Cigars noticed I was smoking a Monte Cristo #2 from Cuba and asked if I would compare it to the new cigar he just brought into the US that he’d been selling in Europe. As I tried the cigar I told him I’d like the real cigar he wanted my insight on because the cigar he had given me tasted JUST LIKE the Monte #2 from Cuba I was smoking. He insisted the cigar I was smoking was in fact his El Criollito. I was BLOWN AWAY at the flavor which tasted just like some of the premium Cubans I’d smoked before. This cigar is the best UNCUBAN cigar that actually tastes’s Cuban in flavor.

The flavor in the Criollito is awesome. Gets a little fishy at the end but that’s true for many cigars (at least to my palate and I know everyone is different). The aspect that’s ‘hit-or-miss’ on these seems to be the burn and the smoke. Sometimes it doesn’t produce very much smoke and sometimes you need to relight several times. I’m in Hollywood, CA, so I’m sure weather is a factor, and that I store my sticks in a Xikar travel case with Boveda packs (not a $500 humidor).

Good quality and excellent flavor profile! Fabulous daily smoke.

Fantastic smoke! Newbie approved. Lots of smoke, decent burn, draw was overly easy. As far as Uncuban, well it is not a Montecristo. However, this is a wonderful mild great tasting cigar. Thanks Zeal for introducing this to me, will buy again.

Not a perfect burn but definitely Cuban like flavors. I think it’s great to use more traditional tobaccos to produce cuban like flavors. The construction is much better than most cubans i have had. Look forward to buying these again.
